We will be having our next get together at 6/8 Kafe on Tuesday 1st November at 6:30pm.
No guest lecture this time - it will be a friendly get together and a chance to meet other photographers and network.
….although we do have a couple of special things up our sleeves.
As well as showing the results from Portrait Project Round 3, there will also be announcements of several exciting new projects, events and opportunities.
I would also like to hear from YOU! BLP is all about inclusiveness and I want to hear about your ideas, what you think would be fun and what opportunities you would like to in order to engage and challenge yourselves.
This will be an open floor discussion, so if you have any thoughts then just come and talk to me after the announcements.
Look forward to seeing you there!

The dates have been set!
On August 4th there will be an informal meet up at 6pm, held at 6/8 Kafe. This will just be a coffee and a chat session, anyone is welcome to turn up and talk photography. This will also be a chance for Portrait Project pairs to get together at a set time and meet others taking part.
On August 4th, after the meeting finishes, everyone is welcome to head to one of the Ping Pong tables scattered around Birmingham and we will have a Birmingham Loves Photographers Ping Pong Tournament (don’t worry, it’s not really a tournament, just a bit of fun…I’m rubbish) This will give you ample opportunity to take some photos and enter them into the Ping! Photography Competition. Get practising!
August 16th - 6:30 Start
Then on August 16th there will be another get together at 6/8 Kafe. This will be a chance for participants of the portrait project to share work they have done, show others who are interested in the project, have a chit chat and also a short lecture by a guest speaker on portrait photography.
This will be more chilled out then our last meet up, giving a chance to meet other togs around Birmingham.
Hope to see you at both and if there is anything you would like to see or contribute then just give us a shout.
Some surprisingly bad photos for a room full of photographers
I just want to say a quick thank you for everyone who came to our first meet up and guest lecture last night. I wanted to keep it simple and interesting for the first event; and I think you’ll agree that Richard Battye did a superb job in giving an entertaining and inspiring lecture. Check out this write up on PS Photography
This will be the first of many meet ups, with the next one happening next month and this time it will be more geared to meeting your fellow local photographers! Keep an eye out for the event soon and also new projects will be posted over the next couple of days.
We have a twitter account! While some updates will be filtered through the 6/8 Kafe twitter account, I have opened a new Birmingham Loves Photographers twitter account to give updates on the blog, answer questions, retweet events and have a bit of fun. So get following!
Thanks again and see you soon.
